Bill Warner
Bio
“Uncle Bill” Warner has been a proud Porterville resident since his retirement from teaching in Los Angeles in 1989. Growing up in the Golden Age of Radio in the 1930s and 40’s and listening to thousands of hours of great entertainment gave him a lasting affection for the theatre of the mind, something that many members of the TV generations have missed. His present activities include folk singing, working as an amateur magician, doing the annual old toy exhibit at the Porterville Historical Museum, hosting the local French Club, writing poetry, building cigar-box guitars , making bird and doghouses for Habitat for Humanity’s yearly fund-raising auction, and pouring money into an 80 -year-old Lincoln Zephyr. He is also an exhibiting artist and on the Board of the Porterville Art Association.
